Magritte-Renoir at the Orangerie Museum

22 Jun 2021 Lp Art Exibitions

The LP Art team has installed before the reopening of the museums, effective on May 19th, the exhibition entitled "Surrealism in the Sun" which will be held until July 19 at the Orangerie Museum in Paris.
It brings together some sixty paintings and forty drawings thanks to which Magritte’s paintings are compared with masterpieces by Auguste Renoir that inspired him.
The "Renoir Period" of Magritte was for him the engine of an in-depth reform of Surrealism that he tried to addressed in October 1946 on his Manifesto « Surrealism in Full Sunlight » to André Breton, but this project received an outright rejection.
